'What does / might Brexit mean for the creative industries?'
Quite like most other average industries in the country, Brexit has likely affected creative companies' ordering and receiving of important materials and equipment in order to be able to do their job as well as they need to. This means that problems such as offices not being able to require powerful enough machines, or studios acquiring camera equipment for example, will either take longer or potentially have longer waiting lists to assure that their is enough to go around. Financial issues have also increased, with costs such as shipping from other countries, or custom fees, either going up in price or being put in place for some orders that may not have had them attached before in some situations since the official leave from the EU.
'Cultural policy - what is currently happening in the UK?'
A country's 'cultural policy' is a combination of said country's laws, actions and programs from their government which affect and are directly related to the creative and arts sectors, (music, dance, literature, drama, etc) whether this be by regulation, protection, encouragement or financial affects. Currently in the United Kingdom, cultural policy updates and improvements are happening fast and constantly throughout the year, improving many areas all over Britain in many sectors. These recent happenings include, but are not limited to, over a thousand schools receiving improved internet speeds thanks to recent government investments, fifty-two-thousand extra digital tech jobs in the West Midlands planning to be created, and British film and television having eighteen new 'awards' made which sum to roughly a million pounds in new funding for supporting UK screen content to reach success internationally.
